Pack Hikes

Pack Hikes

Welcome to the 2016-2017 scout hikes!

Typically scheduled on the third Sunday of the month at 1:30 pm (but please check the schedule for exceptions), the hikes are open to scouts and their family of all ages (brothers, sisters and grandparents of scouts are all invited to join). Designed to be approximately 1.5 to 3 miles per outing, scout hikes give participants a chance to unplug and enjoy the great outdoors, experience wildlife and exercise with friends and families.

Occasionally, there will be the opportunity for scouts to work toward their achievements, and some hikes will feature demonstrations of navigating in the outdoors, hiking equipment and first aid. Hikers should wear sturdy shoes (hiking boots are not essential but they are preferred) and hikers should come dressed with appropriate outdoor wear. Hikers should also bring a water bottle and optionally a snack. Other optional items include: a compass, binoculars, a first aid kit and a walking stick.

Your hike leader is Greg Tonn (gregtonn@gmail.com or cell: 302-345-0615). We look forward to an enjoyable season and hope to see you all on the trails.
